Erotica

This book looks at the way in which perceptions and expressions of the erotic have changed at turning points in Western history, how the dialect between repression and permissiveness has affected art and literature. Following an exploratory introduction, the book is presented in 12 chapters. Each chapter contains a short introduction, comparing and contrasting aspects and attitudes. The various themes are illustrated with paintings, drawings, photography, poetry and prose.
