Belief and experience among the Sidamo

This book presents insights gained field-work among the Sidamo of southwestern Ethiopia into the basic structure of their society and their interpretation of destiny, particularly the occurence of disease and misfortune, as expressed in their spirit cult. It is addressed to professional anthropologists but may also be of interest to sociologists and lay readers interested in the relationschip between society and idelogy.
